Real-Time Reflections

An Interactive Journaling Experience
This offering is an invitation to notice what’s actually happening as it’s happening—and to have it witnessed with care.

Real-Time Reflections is not about journaling after you’ve figured things out.
It’s about capturing your experience while it’s still unfolding.

Messy. Tender. In process.

This shared journal is a place for honest reflection, gentle witnessing, and thoughtful response—without pressure to perform, resolve, or make meaning too quickly.

What This Is

Real-Time Reflections is a shared, private journal experience where you and I are both present inside the same container.

You’ll use the journal to:

  • Reflect in real time

  • Track emotional and energetic movement

  • Name what feels sticky, charged, confusing, or alive

  • Practice telling the truth gently

I use the journal to:

  • Read your reflections with care

  • Respond with thoughtful mirrors, questions, and perspective

  • Help you notice patterns, shifts, and places where something is softening or asking for attention

This is a process space, not a productivity tool.

The Journal Platform

We use the Day One app to host your private, shared journal.

The shared journal supports:

  • Written reflections

  • Photo entries

If you choose to use audio or video reflections, those features are available through Day One’s Premium plan, which is purchased separately and directly through the app.

The heart of this work lives in presence, not production.
Writing and photos are more than enough for meaningful reflection.

Real-Time Reflection Guidelines

One-Time App Setup

Turn Off Auto-Add Location

In the Day One app, please turn off Auto-Add Location for this journal.

Here’s how:

  1. Open the shared journal

  2. On the journal’s main page, tap the three dots in the top right corner

  3. Select Journal Settings

  4. Tap Advanced

  5. Toggle Auto-Add Location to off

That’s it—you only need to do this once.

This keeps entries grounded in the reflection itself, without adding location details that can distract from the process.

Photos & Videos: One Important Step

When you add a photo or video to the journal, you may see a prompt that asks:

“Use attachment time?”

If you see this message, please select:

→ No

Why this matters:
Choosing “Yes” attaches the photo or video to the original date it was taken, which can cause it to appear out of sequence in the shared journal. Selecting “No” keeps the entry placed where it belongs—at the point it’s added—so our back-and-forth stays clear and easy to follow.

The journal will automatically date entries when they’re added—no extra formatting is needed.

How to Use

There is no right pace, length, or style.

You’re invited to:

  • Write as things are happening—or as they’re settling

  • Follow what feels alive, heavy, unclear, or unfinished

  • Let your writing be imperfect and in process—this is not a space for polished writing. Spelling, grammar, punctuation, and coherence do not matter here. What matters most is authenticity.

  • Pause when you need to—silence is part of the rhythm

You do not need insight before you write.
Clarity often comes through writing.

This is not a place to fix yourself.
It’s a place to stay with yourself.

My Reading & Response Rhythm

I read and respond to journal entries twice per week, typically:

Tuesdays and Thursdays
between 2:00–6:00 PM ET

Responses may arrive at any point within those windows and are not guaranteed on the same day an entry is posted.

What’s Included

  • Ongoing access to a private shared journal with me

  • Regular reading of your reflections

  • Thoughtful written responses

  • Gentle questions, mirrors, and perspective

  • A steady, contained relational presence

What This Is Not

To keep this container clear and supportive, please note:

  • This is not therapy

  • This does not include live sessions

  • This is not crisis support

  • Responses are not immediate or on-demand

If something urgent arises, please reach out to appropriate real-time support.

Investment & Participation

$100 per month

This covers the shared journal container, my time, presence, and responses.

You can pause or cancel the renewal at any time—there’s no long-term commitment. This is here for you during the months it feels most helpful.

Optional Day One Premium features (audio/video) are separate and purchased directly through the app.

This journal isn’t about doing more.
It’s about noticing more.

About letting moments land instead of rushing past them.
About staying long enough to hear what’s actually being said underneath the noise.

You don’t have to be eloquent.
You don’t have to be consistent.
You just have to show up honestly—when you can. That’s enough.

FAQs

There’s no required frequency. You’re welcome to post as often or as little as feels supportive. This is about honesty, not consistency.

1

How often should I post?

Is there a “right” length for entries?

2

No. A few lines or several pages are both welcome. Let the reflection be as long as it needs to be.

3

Can I post multiple entries between response days?

Yes. You’re welcome to post whenever something wants to be named or captured.

Will you respond to every entry?

4

I read all entries shared within the journal. Responses are thoughtful and paced within the response windows, rather than tied to every individual post.

What if I don’t write for a while?

5

That’s okay. Pauses are part of the process. You’re always welcome to return when something feels ready to be written.

No. This journal is not about good writing. You don’t need correct spelling, proper grammar, or complete thoughts. Stream-of-consciousness, fragments, and messy entries are all welcome. The focus is on truth, not polish.

Do I need to write “well” or worry about spelling and grammar?

6

No. This is a reflective journaling container that’s part of a personal growth coaching journey. While I bring decades of experience as a therapist into the way I listen and respond, this offering is not therapy and does not replace clinical or crisis care.

7

Is this therapy?

What if something urgent comes up?

8

This journal is not monitored in real time. If you’re in distress or need immediate support, please reach out to appropriate real-time resources.
